Chilean Eagle wingspan ranges from 165 cm to 205 cm for adult birds.
Height ranges from 60 cm to 83 cm. Female eagles are larger than their male counterparts.
Weight ranges from just under 2 kg to 3.6 kg. Again the female eagle tend to be larger than male eagles.
The Chilean Eagle has behavior not expected from eagles, that of a scavenger, preferring others make the kill. However it is, unlike vultures, picky about the meat it eats and chooses fresh kill only. They have no problem steeling prey from other carnivores. Being very capable to hunt for itself, chilean eagles will only undertake active hunting and killing if they really need to.
